Hello All -
I am new here but really enjoying the postings. Very encouraging and supportive. I am leaving in 3 weeks to go to Samui Island in Thailand to do my second cleanse/fast this year. I am amazed at the benefits I have experienced since my cleanse and before as I spent a few months do liver clease drinks and 2/3 raw foods to prepare. It was not hard at all and I really enjoyed not having to deal with the whole food thing (shopping, cooking, cleaning, thinking, planning, "I don't know, what do you feel like having?...etc...) While I have lost a bit more than 40 pounds, I have really noticed changed in my body functioning, overall energy and attitude.
I am curious - has anyone here done any spa cleansing? If so - how was your experience? Could you recommend any place? The place that I go follows Dr. Richard Anderson's book "Cleanse Thyself." My only complaint is that while feeling full/empty is dealth with by using herbal supplements and bentonite clay and husks drinks a few times a day, I felt too full for the last three days of my 7 day fast - to the point that I didn't want any supplements and the idea of swallowing them made me panicy. Anyone else have this experience?
Thanks in advance for your input!

Re: Spa Fasting / Cleansing
Wed, August 24, 2005 - 8:41 AMHI Alice,
YOu've probably gone and come back by now. Hope your cleanse went well. I've done a few at the Spa over the last 5 years or so, and yes, on one occasion I felt so utterly full and bloated with the psyllium that I couldnt physically bear to continue with the 3 or so doses a day, so just cut back on them. Obviously I still took the supplements as those were essential, but given the twice daily colemas I felt that doing away with one to two psylium a day wasn't going to drastically effect my cleanse. It didn't. I had amazing results, and have had same results each time. I believe that each body constitution (in the ayurvedic system) has a different tolerance to psylium. My body is predominantly kapha - water and earth - sluggish digestion etc, and too much cold wet material aggravates me. I also begin with a liver flush a la Dr Hilde Clarke's recipe. Anyway, hope you;re feeling perky!
Eli.
