I've heard nothing but good things about going to True North for doing a water fast. Does anyone have any information to share with me about this facility? Any bad experiences to tell me about? I have Lupus (SLE) and heard of positive results for treating Lupus with a water fast.

Re: True North Health Promoting: Water Fast?
Tue, September 13, 2005 - 12:44 PMNot only that, but why PAY to fast? You can do it for the price of oranges. Buy Arnold Ehret's "Mucusless Diet" for $5 on Amazon, as well as "Facts of Nutrition" by Hilton Hotema and then do it yourself for free. -

Re: True North Health Promoting: Water Fast?
Tue, September 13, 2005 - 4:49 PMThanks for the book recommendations. I've been on a no dairy, wheat, sugar diet for 6 months and my symptoms have all but disappeared. I'm still leaking protein, so I was hoping a fast would get me over the hump.
Thanks again. -

Re: True North Health Promoting: Water Fast?
Wed, September 14, 2005 - 12:18 PMIt's about coverting to a vegan, alkaline diet (they postulate that mucus is caused by acid forming foods and causes disease) and it goes into the benefits of fasting also. It's a short, easy read and it's cheap! Arnold Ehret was an MD and a master faster in the early 1900s, I think. But Hotema is really fascinating. He links diet with spirituality and man's origins and stuff. He really explains what fasting can do.

Re: True North Health Promoting: Water Fast?
Thu, April 27, 2006 - 10:36 AMI have been to the True North Health Clinic and thought the doctors and environment was excellent. I fasted there for 7 days on water. In order to do a water fast that is thorough and complete, I do believe one should be supervised by professionally trained physicians (and not do it at home alone)! For their time and effort to assist you in recovery, they should obviously be reimbursed financially. Also, to be in a place where others are fasting and recovering and to support one another, is a tremendous advantage. As well as the opportunity to remove yourself from your home environment and work and friends and distractions and just concentrate on getting well. I would recommend it. Good luck.

Re: True North Health Promoting: Water Fast?
Sun, October 23, 2005 - 11:08 PMThere's always the Master Cleanse as an alternative to plain water fasting. I'm currently on day 6 and feel great. I've also done water fasting with great benefit. This one is easier, though. Check out the Master Cleanse Tribe for more information and resources.
Best Wishes,
Seha
