mucus plug

so i read somewhere in a fasting book about loosing the mucus plug from your intestines. I am now on the master cleanse and wondering if you loose a mucus plug in this method. Or, can anyone tell me where i read about loosing the plug? the book had pictures and different versions of the cleanse. the author was a raw foodist and wrote a lot about he and his wife.
